Busy on the Homestead...

We have been very busy on the homestead, through March, and now that kidding season is over for us, it seams like we’re always working! A few things that we’ve been working on: Installing new kidding stalls for our does. Fixing the turkey coop, adding a nesting box to the turkey coop. Planting the greenhouse, Putting up a wind break in the feed area. All 7 of our does have kidded – Pictures and info for each doe will be uploaded in the next few days. Our first doe to kid was our beautiful WesCo Kara, she kidded April 1, 2023 as a first time Freshener.

Dear Mother Nature…

Dear Mother Nature, PLEASE make winter go away! On January 20th, 2023, we had a snow storm that dumped almost 8 inches on us. Today is February 4, 2023. See videos below of the storm and now, 2 weeks later... Did I mention I hate winter?

We will have kids available in April to reserve after all does have kidded. If you are interested in reserving a kid, please Contact Us. We require a $50 deposit which is refundable if sale is terminated by us for any reason. If sale is terminated by buyer less than 7 days from pick up, deposit is non-refundable. Buyers are encouraged to make arrangements to see kids before purchase and/or pick up. All kids that are eligible for registration will come with paperwork for AGS or AGDA registration. Thor Fall 2022 Breedings

Thor, Our main herd sire. Registered name: Desertnanny Dark Frost.

He was bred to Torvi – Registered Name: Desernanny Wanna S’More, on November 8, 2022. She short cycled and went back into heat on December 2, 2022, she is due on April 2, 2023 or April 26, 2023.

Apollo Fall 2022 Breedings

Apollo, out of Thor and Torvi. Registered name: WesCo Apollo

He was bred to 2 of our does: Brida on November 11, 2022. She short cycled and went back into heat on the same day as Xena, and both were bred to Apollo on November 17, 2022. Brida is due on either April 5th or April 11, 2023, and Xena is due on April 11, 2023.

Finan Fall 2022 Breedings

Finan – our 2nd herd sire Registered name: HJ Summit Farms Finan

He was bred to 4 of our does: Artemis on November 7, Kara on November 7, Boudicca was either November 13 or 14, and Briseis November 23.

Torvi (Wanna S’more?) went into heat on 11/08/2022, and we bred her to our main herd sire, Thor (Dark Frost) If their breeding took, she should be due to kid on April 2nd, 2023.

Next, Brida came into heat on 11/11/2022. She was bred to Apollo, our buck from Torvi (Wanna S’More?) and Thor (Dark Frost)’s mating last November.Their kids should be due on April 5, 2023.

Our girl Boudicca out of Artmemis (Midnight Luna) and Thor (Dark Frost) went into heat yesterday (11/13/2022) and she was bred to our new boy Finan. Their kids should be due on April 7, 2023.

Breeding Time

Breeding time has arrived! We started Breeding our does as they went into heat after November 1st.

The first to go into heat was Artemis (Midnight Luna.) She went into heat morning of 11/07/2022. We bred her to our new boy HJ Summit Finan. Her due date should be April 1, 2023.

Next, our little Kara went into heat – same day, 11/07/2022. She was also bred to Finan. Her due date is April 1, 2023.
